Archived PARS Data

Note: There are several pieces of data that ACCME no longer requires and that have been removed from the new excel reports. You will still be able to view and collect this data in HighMarksCE. However, the location has moved in the interest of keeping the ‘Manage PARS’ screen consistent with the information ACCME is currently requiring.  

To review the ACCME PARS Data that was required and reported prior to the 2021 ACCME updates, please access the Archived PARS Data Section.

Go to Activities > use the text search or 'Advanced Search' to find the Activity you need to update the ACCME PARS Reporting Year for

 

Click on the Activity Title

 

 

 

From the Activity Dashboard, click on PARS - Archived PARS Data

 

 

 

 

Under the Activity Dashboard > PARS tab, there is a new link called “Archived PARS Data.” We have moved the following sections to be located on this new screen: 

• Hours of Instruction 
• Designed to Change
• Evaluated 
• Sub-Category 
• Competencies/Demographics 

Nothing has changed in terms of how this data is collected other than the fields being moved to this new screen. The intended use of this section is to: 

• Allow you to view historical data for past activities where you collected this data 
• Allow you to continue to collect this data if you choose 

Note, if you continue to use the Tab-delimited report, ACCME may require you to continue reporting on these fields. Archived PARS Data Field Definitions

Hours of Instruction: Total hours of educational instructions based on http://www.accme.org/ask-accme/how-does-accme-define-hours-instruction. The generated total is the total time in hours for sessions. Generated Instruction hours include the break session hours also. This field must be set manually to exclude the break hours. 

 

Important notes on Hours of Instruction:

 

Cancelled Sessions, Template Sessions, MOC Sessions and Sessions with "0" credits are not included in the Instructional Hours count.

 

The activity instructional hours is generated by summing the time between the start and end date for each session. When this Session has the same start and end date/time , the generated instructional hours would be zero for that session, and this would cause the generated activity instructional hours to be incorrect.

 

To avoid this, HighMarksCE has added a support for the additional validation based on security level. When the validation is turned on, the system will compare the dates, and show an error.

The only exception to this is if both the dates are blank.

 

 

 

 

Designed to Change ; Evaluated; Subcategories; and Sponsorship are either entered manually or can be customized to be mapped over from application.
